Writer | Film Critic | Independent Journalist | Filmmaker

I’m a Dublin, Ireland-based independent writer and filmmaker, originally from Bulgaria with international producing and writing experience. With already 5 years of experience in film criticism under my belt, I have covered prestige film festivals such as Cannes Film Festival, Galway Film Fleagh, Dublin International Film Festival and recently Edinburgh International Film Festival, attended multiple press screenings and conducted interviews with various industry professionals, more recently with Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Justin Chang.

I’ve also worked professionally within a TV environment, specifically a writer's room, and have further experience with production assistance on set and event management, as well as some copywriting and translating service.

MINT Emerging Critics Scheme 2026

This February marked the first time in my professional experience that I got to serve on a film jury panel being selected as a member of the Emerging Critics Jury for this years' MINT Chinese Film Festival.

Being apart of the scheme gave me the chance to watch the entire short film selection and write reviews on a few of the features screenings.

A heartfelt thank you to Wenqi Zhang and the entire team for trusting me with my first experience as a film jury member. Spending time with such distinctive and thought-provoking projects has expanded my perspective on Asian cinema and introduced me to stories and filmmakers I may not have discovered otherwise. It was especially meaningful to be part of a female-led festival that creates space for diverse voices and celebrates bold, original storytelling.

My reviews of Yukari Sakamoto's 'White Flowers and Fruits' and Satoko Yokohama's 'Seaside Serendipity' are now available on the MINT Chinese Film Festival website.

Pineapple with ham on toast and a sprinkle of second-wave feminism in Pierre Monnard’s feel-good biopic Hello Betty

Every year Dublin International Film Festival selects a different country for their section “Country in Focus” to showcase new films, retrospectives and Irish co-productions, bringing more light to worldwide projects that might not have had the chance to shine for Irish audiences yet.Among those films was Pierre Monnard’s Hello Betty, which screening was followed by a Q+A with producer Peter Reichenbach, sharing his own memories of the national icon that is Betty Bossi and who, prior to the scre...

Gore with glitter in Tina Romero’s “Queens of the Dead”

if the real monsters were the humans all along, as well as avoiding the use of the wordcolours and glittery outfits are one of the reasons the film seems so fresh as it gives its gorehas stated before that he uses horror as an allegory and that zombies are more aboutto the modern audience, scavenging for something eccentric and funny to see. It’s also nicefor once to have a nepo baby embracing their “heritage” without running away from it or

"Meet the Parents” meets “Parasite” in Zoe Pepper’s debut “Birthright”

Have you ever wondered what would happen if Bong Joon Ho’s “Parasite” had a crossover with “Meet the Parents”? The result would be something similar to Zoe Pepper’s feature film debut “Birthright” that, after its world premiere at Tribeca, has now joined the shortlist for the Avolon World Cinema Award at this year’s Dublin International Film Festival edition. This Australian black comedy with satirical undertones puts us in the shoes of Cory (Travis Jeffery) whose situation couldn’t be worse. He...
